The Institute For The Future
IFTF Technology Horizons Program, along with a group of leading experts, entrepreneurs, and artists, including Robin Sloan, Michael Wesch, Howard Rheingold, Tiffany Shlain, and Loic LeMeur, has been exploring the future of video and video culture. These explorations have been captured, in video, at our new website: peopleofthescreen.org.
We are now inviting IFTF researchers, our clients, and the public to join this very important and exciting conversation.
Peopleofthescreen.org has been designed to reward users at multiple levels of engagement and contains innovative new video capabilities. Once an account is created, you will be able to:
1. Watch videos from our experts, IFTF researchers, and others.
2. Create and upload your own video responses to our forecasts and other videos.
3. Remix and mash-up videos pulled from the site and elsewhere.
The integration of an in-browser editing tool gives users the opportunity to learn and create new ways to communicate meaning through video. Ubiquitous recorders and distribution channels will open up video to the masses, but editing and re-mixing will shape the messages and meaning that video will speak.
We are proud to be partnering with Kaltura, makers of an open-source video editing platform.
So, please announce the launch of peopleofthescreen.org, tweet it, post the link on Facebook, broadcast it to your networks now... and jump into the mix.
