The inaugural Tewaaraton Legend is the great James “Jim” Brown, Syracuse University. “Jim Brown possesses the love of the sport that characterizes lacrosse players. His achievements are an important part of lacrosse history and we are excited to have him as our first Tewaaraton Legend” said Robert Sweeney, President of the Greater Washington Sports Alliance. “starting this year with an American sports legend whose performance in lacrosse earned him a first-team All-American recognition and selection in to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.” Not only a legend in lacrosse, Brown lettered in three other collegiate sports and went on to play nine outstanding years in the NFL as a record-setting running back for the Cleveland Browns.
