Chris Thile of Punch Brothers reportedly wins 'genius grant'

On Tuesday, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation
is set to announce this year’s recipients of its so-called genius grants,
a wide-ranging list of 23 overachievers that reportedly includes Thile,
according to the Associated Press.
The 31-year-old mandolin whiz first found fame
with the teenage bluegrass trio Nickel Creek and
now leads Punch Brothers, and he has also recorded
with cellist Yo-Yo Ma and bassist Edgar Meyer.
